Real Quick I thought I would just point everyone in the direction of the thread where Mlad is currently posting the video tutorial work he's been doing lately. I know that originally he had inquired about it, but that when a thread gets updated it doesn't mean it gets seen by people. The Volume of useful information that is coming out of him as he works is good for any artist to pay close attention to regardless of style. He does many of them in what I guess is real time, so it does take a little time invested on your part to check them out, but I encourage everyone to MAKE that time to see what he's got cookin up over there. I checked them all out today and I got to say that this guy seriously knows what the hell he's talking about so listen up!

Now that we're starting to get some entries going on the thread, I would like to just take a minute to thank everyone who has posted and those who are still working on their intended posts for the thread. Even still I would like to encourage those who have not yet looked at the thread to do so, and those who had initially decided not to do anything from it to perhaps reconsider. I know a lot of people are having fun with this and its a great way to see interpretations of characters, and to spread a little bit of the holiday spirit that I found has gotten lost in a lot of what I call the "Holiday Noise".

So for those of you who have yet to check out the thread and post a list, please do so! And for those of you who haven't done much art lately, perhaps these lists can function as a source of inspiration! As always if you simply do not have the time to get a piece down yourself but desperately want to, I know there are a few artists around here who are still offering commissions at good rates!

For those of you who haven't been victim to my pimping of the thread thus far, well.....now you are. I've started a thread in the forums for people's art based christmas lists! What I'm looking for from people is anything from a super specific to super simple list of art they would like see done for them. The idea is that if someone wants to make you something for christmas, they can hone in on what it is you're looking for based off of your list!

I really want a lot of people to get in on this, I feel like this site is much more of a community than other sites I post on and I would hate to see us fall short around the holidays. Tis the season for giving, but sometimes people need help in what it is they should be getting you! I know as artists we can be lazy, busy, or just not in the christmas spirit. But try to think of this as any other community jam. If you find you're absolutely unable to do something for someone and you still REALLY want to, why not commission something for them? Lots of artists round here are posting some excellent holiday rates for commissions and such, and taking advantage of those while gifting other people would be an excellent way to spread that holiday spirit! ;D haha.

For all those artists who have been showing interest in the Cuirizu, thanks a bunch! I really didn't think it would take off like this so I'm very flattered that so many people consider my idea to be worth the time! That being said however, it seems as though I should supply a tad more information to people so that they may help build their Cuirizu characters with a little bit more in mind, while I was working on it on the side...I suppose its a good idea to release a Spell List for Plant Magic.

This spell list is by no means complete, and will be updated as time goes on, but I thought it would be a good start for people to get going on if this sort of thing interests them. It also only covers one facet of the Cuirizu's spell accessibility. While they make use of numerous Plant based spells, they also have those based off of Lust. That list will become available shortly. Neither of the lists is written with Cuirizu's exclusively in mind, but rather anyone who would make use of plant magic in general.

If anyone has any ideas for their own spell effects and such, feel free to leave a comment and I'll see what I can do about adding it, presuming its not too close to an unwritten idea of my own.

I didn't know a good way to submit writing to this site, so I just linked it on over to the thing I have on DeviantArt, click the download button there and you should be able to bring the rtf document up in either microsoft word or wordpad.

So Lately I've been on this kick with my Cuirizu species, the Plant Demons who I came up with a couple years back. For the longest time Myanna was really the only member but in recent years I've decided to add a couple and have even invited friends of mine to make members of the race themselves! I've been working on their internal structure for a while now and while I've been doing some illustrations of various Spells they might make use of, I'm looking forward to introducing some of the background characters within the race soon and even other Orders besides the Order of the Vernal Lust. At the top of the list will come the Order Primogen however, the one founding member of an entire order of Cuirizu. Being the oldest of the order and the one with the most experience will leave some of these primogen designs slightly more dramatic and twisted than the "run of the mill" cuirizu characters.

In addition to that I am also looking at throwing something in to some Naga designs. I saw a few recently that I really thought were nicely designed and unique and I'd like to kind of run with that design with some of my own tweaks on them perhaps. In addition to the Nagas I've got some images kickin around in my head regarding a succubus like race. I don't know yet if I want to customize these various ideas in to original races or just call them what they are... Nagas and Succubi. I've got some concept sketches I've been scrounging together but until I get rid of some of my school workload I can't really commit too much time to them. Hopefully something will pop up soon!

Anyone have any thoughts on this stuff? Feel free to leave a comment to help me brainstorm I'd really appreciate it!

If you're interested in the set of pinup sketches that I did recently I am looking to sell them off for about 80 dollars, or best offer. Normally for line art I charge about 15 dollars. So that would have normally put these upwards of 120 dollars. I figure thats WAY to high, representing the price of art that is done on request specifically for a commissioner. So I slashed the price a bit with this in mind.

If anyone is interested, please by all means send me a note or leave me a message here, the price as it stands now is 80 dollars via pay pal and the sketches would be mailed to you via UPS or something like that. However if someone is DIEING for the sketches, feel free to give an offer over 80 dollars to secure the sketches for yourself. Otherwise this is first come first serve. I've never done anything like this before so bare with me.

It's not a big deal. I'd like to put that right out there now, while everyone is still weighing on it. The filter is not an attempt to run futa art and futa artists off the site, nor is it a commentary on your work or you as a person. Relax.

The filters are not to block your work from everybody else, but to ensure that if someone DOESN'T want to see Futa they don't run across it. Now if they come to your pics it was because they more or less chose to. This will not only cut down on people who aren't in to it seeing something "they don't like" but will also help to keep any douchebaggery from such people to a minimum. Now if someone has something stupid to say about it, (as I've seen in a good number of futa pic comments) they really don't have a leg to stand on. With a filter they're more or less going out of their way to harass you and can be dealt with in such a manner.

I understand Futanari is not for everyone, it's a niche. Hell I've been in to it for a while but until recently didn't have the courage to DO such work and put it up on a public venue. This community has actually helped to support me and bolster my courage to post such things. If it weren't for some of the people I met here I wouldn't work with it. I like doing other stuff yes, but because Futa has that "new" quality to it right now it seems to be what I do a lot of.

So to anyone who identifies as a Futa Artist of any sort, just relax. You're not being blackballed or shunned. Filters cover the bases for all people involved and keep it civil. If you've seen some people expressing negative opinions on it, stay cool, not everyone's in to the same stuff and I really doubt that it was a commentary on you as a person. And I really doubt that people complain just because "futa pics are getting more views" or some such nonsense.

If anyone is wondering what the slippery slope will bring us to, well..... more filters. Duh. It'll allow people to more customize the viewing experience they have on here at hArtists. One of the great things I find about this site is its focus on its community and it's attempts to sincerely do right by them. Giving people MORE options for how they go about their navigation and viewing is not a bad thing. So for the last time guys....

A short update on my so called "Drama"....because serious legal and financial issues are just Drama to flakey tarts welching on their obligations. Seriously, go check her DA journal to see how everything has been brushed off in such a casual manner. And in an edited journal, so as not to generate a new one that comes up on anyone's alerts. Hiding like that only lends evidence to a guilty conscience and the knowledge that someone did something wrong. Of course she won't see it that way I'm sure.

So I had a long talk with the landlord regarding the situation with the room mate who skipped town. He'll be handling it accordingly on his end but he's not going to compel her to pay because the legal fees of prosecuting someone all the way in Oregon far out weigh what he could gain on the last remaining monthes of rent. I can't blame him, its pretty logical really. So she's gone, doesn't have to pay her rent and she gets the small satisfaction of having beat the system I guess.

Except for the blight on her credit report. The landlord CAN do that without a cost, and any loaner or future leaser who looks in to her history hear on will see that lil miss Kelly can't ride out a year long lease.

I've explained to the landlord what the deal was, and he does NOT consider my girlfriend to be a sublet as well.... shes not subletting. She's living in my room with me which is constituted as a separate unit to be paid for per the terms and conditions of the lease. With the other unit unused there is no sublet. No paper work exists that such a sublet happens. While I tried to get one, it's just not happening in this town. And while she may swear up and down that she isn't obligated to pay a thing, the contract says she is.

Just because you get away with something, doesn't make it ok.

The landlord has agreed to take her security deposit and use it to pay her portion of the rent for next month (which I paid), and then I've allowed my security deposit to be used for the month after on her behalf while I pay my own portion. Which brings us up to the end of the lease. I lose the 1400 unfortunately but I still have a place to live I guess.

However the portion of the money she still owes me from what I lent her has basically evaporated. She's proven her word means nothing and shes content to take my money. While she did leave a 32 inch LCD TV, the cost of it came out to like... 450 dollars I think. This covers a portion of what she owes me. But there is still a bundle I'm losing on the remainder. I guess in her mind this is a fair trade...

The landlord has also agreed to lower the Rent should I re sign the lease, and he would allow me to be the sole name on the contract, while at the same time giving me the power to lease out the other room as I see fit. Kind of cool but if I can't find anyone it does me no good. Even at the new lowered rate I couldn't afford it alone. That status of my school loans is dubious at best, and I'm supposed to be leaving my current job in the fall. It's not lookin good but maybe I can secure loans elsewhere.

So thats where everything stands, I'm screwed yes with a chance of future screwing. But for the time being I have a place to live. I guess I can thank god for small favors.

So I know not everyone cares to hear my personal nonsense, which is fine, and I generally stay pretty good about keeping my day to day nonsense of off my account here. But at this point things are boiling over.

So tharlossnowthorne (Over at DeviantArt) was a friend I made in high school, and she always used to give me this shit about friendship and all that. When her parents came down on her for slacking off and were talkin bout kicking her out, I was in the market for a room mate. I wanted to go with someone I knew as opposed to picking someone at random. I'd not had good luck with that. I had also believed whole heartedly that the girl really needed to get out of her house. The stories of verbal and physical abuse at the hands of her family, and the cinderella tale it seemed to be at home had me constantly ticked off. I was always on her to move out, and this time I got her to move in with me, she came Oregon to live out here in Boston, that was last August.

She didn't have a lot of startup capitol, which was fine, I was willing to front that to help her out. I paid 1400 dollars plus the cost of her plane ticket right out of the gate to get her here. I covered the deposit and the first month's rent right away. I told her she could pay me back for it, but I wasn't terribly concerned about it, in My head if she could really strike out on her own that was worth more than the money she owed.

Less that a couple weeks later the attitude towards the whole place turned sour. She hated Boston despite never giving it a chance. Her reasons consisted of knowing nobody, having no friends, nothing to do, everything costing money and so on. She took no steps to solve these problems of her own accord, and relied on me constantly as a means of entertainment. During the school year I have very little time for anything, and the occassional time I had free was used trying to help people with the shit they had going on in their lives: IE a friend of mine who's computer decided to up and die on her. Additional time was spent doing artwork, I am absolutely obsessed with getting more practice in over the last year, I'd do anything to do it. Personal projects or commissions. When all of this stuff wasn't eating up my time I also have a girlfriend, and family that requires their own portions of attention. This wasn't good enough for her.

Somehow her family forgot they were kicking her out, and somehow Kelly forgot that she'd been the abused Black Sheep and was pining for the hills of Oregon which she talked about so much in a constantly negative tone. And it hit me around this time that the girl doesn't really ever talk to people about what she -likes- but more often about what she hates: Gays, Mexicans, Black People, Chinese People, Non Christians, and the list goes on and on. Shes a bigot, and for a while it was funny when you think it's all a joke. But when you realize that this shit is -real- with her, it gets disgusting.

Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't all bad all the time. In her own way she can be a big help around the house. She can help with art stuff when it got to be too much between school and my normal job, and she would handle most of the chores here at home. Because of this help I didn't even think to ask her for payment on the other bills; gas, electric, cable, I didn't ask for her to pay out on it. Except when she became convinced she was sick because of phantom mold under the radiator and began leaving windows open throughout the winter. Well while her room is closed up and isolated from the room where this supposed mold is, shes got the windows open, and its tripping the heat off in every OTHER room non stop. The heating bill spiked and came out to 200 dollars one month. This was the only time I up front asked for any of the money from these external bills aside from the rent.

She was taking less and less hours at work, while she insists this was due to her being blackballed by her employers, I got a feeling that the hateful talk in the work place wore thin and they kept her around only for what they absolutely needed her to cover. I got a feeling she pissed people off, offended them seriously, and hence was being told she wasn't welcome with hour cuts and not taking the hint. She refused to get a job anywhere else, but insisted on staying where she was while bitching every day about how awful it was.

This situation deteriorated quickly and arguments became much more frequent. One of which over the true ownership of the cat turned in to a fiasco. She'd been talking about moving out for some time, and it had got pretty serious when she came back from a little trip out to see her family. Well I told her perhaps the time had come for her to go before things got any worse. We agreed it was probably best and that I was going to try and get someone to sublet the room to. Despite my best efforts, no dice on my end. Everyone I lined up would flake out at the last minute, for good and bad reasons alike. And the market for this stuff has just gone right in to the toilet. Especially when we're talking about only a few months and not a full year or something like that.

Part of the agreement would be that she would be paying until I could FIND such a person. I have just receive notification that she will NOT in fact be paying. And for her to even tell me that much was like pulling hens teeth. So it would seem as though I have been burned seriously, I now have a $1,400 rent due in a day that I have to pay all by myself. While I am not technically liable for this, and I could probably contest it in small claims court, Kelly will still lose her deposit....which remember... I paid. 700 dollars gone. If the landlord gets pissed he could find any reason to stick it to ME as well and MY deposit be gone, another 700 gone. In addition any court fees on top of the medical costs Im battling would -break- me. It's unclear as to whether or not I'll be able to even attend school, and I need to keep myself open and my credit pristine. My dad can't help me with this, he's been laid off with so many other people in this economy and my girlfriend is strapped for cash over a situation with her OWN apartment in maine.

So I guess it looks like I'm screwed no matter what I do. Any suggestions from anybody? Comments? Rants? I feel like I should pay it but let the landlord know that shes still bailed on the lease. She talks a big game about going back to school and finally taking out a loan, well with her credit tanked from fucking up a lease, she won't get that loan. Which comes with its own satisfaction for me but doesn't really -help- me at all.

The other part of it is.... well my last relationship, and even a friendship I had with two other people went up in flames because of a lot of "he said, she said" style shit, and she had been the one to "back me" and I took her word on things. But I wonder how much of this stuff was legit, how much was her and how much were these other people? I went to bat for her seemingly being innocent and said some awful things in defense of "my friend", when in reality.... it seems as though she's not as innocent as I'd thought back then. How many people have I got in to hot water with over something SHE had actually been perpetuating behind my back? I know she says awful things about me, and my girlfriend for that matter, where she thinks I'm not paying attention. She'd post tons of awful things in her journals, condemning personal things we do and blaming me for every shred of her misery in the city of Boston. She would never go out, never do anything, sit in her room and blame me for it. And now to top it all off she's sticking it to me where it really hurts, my Wallet.

I'd tried to tell people she wouldn't do this. She wouldn't go this far. She couldn't be THIS irresponsible. So I guess we can call this an official apology to ALL of those people I insulted in her name, bashed in her defense, and fought tooth and nail to defend her against whether she knew it or not.

I'm sorry, all of you.....You were All Right. I was wrong.
